Kso i'm kinda mentally drained rn and this isn't making sense to me. could someone translate it into dumb for me? like what are the reasons behind why it's sometimes "esta" instead of "es" and vice versa?
this stuff:
el es de españa. el es un amigo. but not: el está de españa. el está un amigo.
el está aquí. but not: el es aquí.
“to be (located somewhere)” takes the “to be” verb estar.
“to be (originated from somewhere)” and “to be (a friend)” take the verb ser
