So, what you do is i would personally want to draw out the problem. What i did was i drew 24 circles (not filled in)-white) then i drew 48 circles (filled in-yellow)
Then i added 48 +24 rand got 72. Then you divide 72 by 6 and your answer is 12. So, Alice can fill 12 cartons.

24/6= 4
4 dozens= 48
48/6= 8
4+8=12

It would be 18 cm
