If people shouldn't care about that, then they shouldn't care about anything happening outside their country..

And the people who were kidnapped were American so Americans and politicians will really care about this, otherwise, its gonna end up really bad for the US cause those people are important missionaries

because we're all humans, it's hard to understand being young but they were somebody's son daughter brother sister mom dad and uncle, and more than likely taken to a place where someone is going to do harm to them. child labor etc
