Historians study the past by interpreting evidence. The historian works by examining primary sources , texts, artifacts, and other materials from the time period. Studying history enables us to develop better understanding of the world in which we live. Building knowledge and understanding of historical events and trends, especially over the past century, enables us to develop a much greater appreciation for current events today.

Studying history is important because it allows us to understand our past, which in turn allows us to understand our present. ...
