Depression is a prolonged sadness. This sadness can make you empty inside and cause you to lose motivation. You feel less of a person when you’re depressed and wish you could escape, but there’s no REAL way to escape your own brain. Sometimes you lose interest in everything, including self-care, eating, sleeping, etc.

Depression is like being depressed and depressed is basically being sad.
