I'm having trouble writing a descriptive essay for my class. I started with writing the body (because that's the easiest part for me) but I'm having trouble with the present tense, and the "you would" tense (not sure which tense it would be? ). Saying " you would" over and over again sounds redundant, but switching between the two tenses sounds weird and is grammatically wrong. Any help? Here is what I've got so far:

If you were a bird, you’d see a right triangle, with the ninety-degree angle at the bottom right. There are three peninsulas, all on the opposite side from the right angle. From right to left, the first is the longest. It has fewer trees and bushes, and the grass is short. If you try to walk on it after rainfall, your ankles would sink into the pond. It’s the lowest of the three. The second, my personal favorite, is taller than the first but has more bushes and longer grass. If you go to the end, you wouldn’t be able to see the pond. The final peninsula, is diagonal, with so much vegetation it's hard to get to the end. It is the shortest, but most complicated to navigate through. Pinchy trees will somehow always manage to keep you from getting to the end.
If you were me, on that autumn morning drifting to sleep, you’d have quite a different sensation than the birds gliding over the water. In my normal spot, just before the first peninsula, there are three old pine trees. All spaced out somewhat evenly. Then, a steep cliff above the water. This is the widest part of the lake. Behind the mirror of the sky, is a thin layer of tress guarding my house. You’d feel the grass tickling your feet, and smell the musky pond water. A soft sound of crickets creeks and frogs splashing can be heard. Ducklings swimming in circles and sounds of rustling in the leaves. A family of deer always come prancing in the shallow water. You would see them if you’re early enough.
At dusk, the crickets chirps become significantly louder.
