My sister Abbie and I stooped down low as we descended into the shadowy cellar of our grandparents' house. Familiar smells hit our noses and, as if on cue, we smiled at each other. Like a wave, memories washed over us of ducking into the cool darkness to avoid the summer heat. We recalled the windy fall nights, helping Grandma with the canning of her garden's tomato harvest.
