i didn't know how to act in our new home. i was sad and
angry about being forced to move from our land. but at the
same time i wanted to put on a brave face for my family
and for my people. i wanted to cling to our pride and our
traditions, but i also realized we were facing opponents
who were clearly stronger and better equipped. maybe
someday it would be better for us to join together with
them than to fight them.
