To begin, review key information about paraphrasing. You will practice writing a paraphrase for this question.
A paraphrase is your own version of essential information and ideas (often more than just one main idea) that were presented by someone else in a new form. As long as you are not copying from someone else, this is one legitimate way (as long as you give the original source credit or a citation) to borrow from a source.
Paraphrase vs. Summary: A paraphrase has more detail than a summary. While a summary usually focuses on a single main idea, a paraphrase can present more than one idea.
Tips to Paraphrase:
1. Read once and reread the original passage if necessary to fully understand its meaning.
2. Jot down a key words that you will want to be sure you cover in your paraphrase.
3. Look away from the original and re-write the passage in your own words. Don't look back!
4. Check your new version with the original to make sure your paraphrase accurately expresses all the essential information in a new form.
5. Don't forget to record the source (author, page, etc.) if you are using your paraphrase in a research paper.

Practice Time: Read the text below and create a paraphrase of the text in your own words in the box.
Sea turtles live in coastal areas and open waters all over the world. Six species live in United States waters. All of them are vulnerable, endangered, or critically endangered.
Ashleigh Bandimere is the sea turtle program coordinator at the Oceanic Society. I asked her what the greatest threat to sea turtles is. She said it’s industrial-scale fisheries. Marine animals like sea turtles get caught in nets intended to catch other animals. Ghost gear, or abandoned gear, also entangles the reptiles.
And sea turtle populations have been affected by climate change. It has caused more storms and a rise in sea levels. These have destroyed nesting habitats.

Write a method that takes in an array of point2d objects, and then analyzes the dataset to find points that are close together. be sure to review the point2d api. in your method, if the distance between any pair of points is less than 10, display the distance and the (x, y)s of each point. for example, "the distance between (3,5) and (8,9) is 6.40312." the complete api for the point2d adt may be viewed at ~pf/sedgewick-wayne/algs4/documenta tion/point2d. html (links to an external site.)links to an external site.. try to write your program directly from the api - do not review the adt's source code.
