Exothermic Chemical Engineering Task Context:

Chemical Engineering is a branch of engineering. Chemical engineers are involved in
many different fields, from fuel manufacturing to candy and chocolate production!
Chemical engineers work with chemical elements to design a process or an item. They
understand that different materials have different characteristics and properties, and
choose materials for specific applications based on their properties. These properties
depend on what the materials are made of, as well as their state: solid, liquid or gas.
Challenge:
In your engineering teams you are challenged to create a hot pack that will reach a
temperature of 65º celsius, but have a total mass of 50 grams. You must use your
knowledge of exothermic reactions (from our last investigation) to harness the energy
released from a reaction between H, O and CaCl2. You will need to recall your learning
around the concept of concentration to meet the criteria for success.

What are the criteria’s and constraints in this challenge?
