1. Working quickly to keep the potato as cold as possible, remove the frozen cup from the freezer and add 10 ml of hydrogen peroxide (2
teaspoons). Observe the reaction and record in the data table given below. Use the following scale to rate the reaction: +++ = very strong
reaction, ++ =strong reaction, + = weak reaction, 0 = no reaction. Note: the reaction may take up to two minutes.
2. Add 10 ml of hydrogen peroxide to the boiled potatoes observe and record the reaction.
3. After the 10 minutes have passed, add 10 ml of hydrogen peroxide to each of the remaining cups. Observe and record the reaction.
4. You should repeat the procedure to verify your results.
