The paper should be at least 500 words and at the most 1250 words (bottom left of Microsoft office word tells you the word count). BOTH question 1 and question 2 need to be answered together within the 1000 to 1250 word count (not separately). The wordcount does not include the text of the question, just your answers. Please read the questions carefully and make sure you have address ALL the parts of the question in your response.

1.Think about a hypothetical bone or joint that you could design, 3D/Tissue print and implement into a human body that would improve the quality of life for an average, healthy human. You should be able to describe this bone or joint in the most anatomically accurate way from the tissues and cell types that you have studied (think what kind of cells and tissues would the cross section of this organ would have and why would it have those particular tissue and cell types.) This bone or joint must have a GENUINE FUNCTION AND NEED. You should be able to justify that need. You should also be able to show how this “new” bone or joint would interact with at least one pre-existing part (bone or organ or muscle …) of your body.

2.Think about a hypothetical muscle or group of muscles that you could design, 3D/Tissue print and implement into a human body that would improve the quality of life for an average, healthy human. You should be able to describe this muscle or group of muscles in the most anatomically accurate way from the tissues and cell types that you have studied (think what kind of cells and tissues would the cross section of this organ would have and why would it have those particular tissue and cell types.) This muscle or group of muscles must have a GENUINE FUNCTION AND NEED. You should be able to justify that need. You should also be able to show how this “new” muscle or group of muscles would interact with at least one pre-existing part (bone or organ or muscle …) of your body.

Female luna moths (actias luna) attract males by emitting chemical signals that spread through the air. a male hundreds of meters away can detect these molecules and fly toward their source. the sensory organs responsible for this behavior are the comblike antennae visible in the photograph shown here. each filament of an antenna is equipped with thousands of receptor cells that detect the sex attractant. based on what you learned in this chapter, propose a hypothesis to account for the ability of the male moth to detect a specific molecule in the presence of many other molecules in the air. what predictions does your hypothesis make? design an experiment to test one of these predictions.
