If so, life is a characteristic that includes biological genes, growth, reproduction and so on.

Your question is very important question and researchers who are working on consciousness care a lot about this question. If this is true, you and only you would be real and all the rest of us we would be bots in your dreams , our job would be to entertain you and make your dream richer and intense. I think this is an absurd proposition because there are a lot of lives and stories that are taking form beyond you and your world besides that the world should stop existing by your death. This leaves us to think life is a common dream that we share this is more logical but in this case this proves how small we are because we will never know which is the real world, this life or the after life . We are just stuck and in my opinion you will never know and that will have no significance.
