Why should we care if chulym or chemehuevi or kallawaya survive? would you feel the same way if english or your native language were on the verge of extinction?

A language is part of what makes up culture and to not care about the existence of one is to say that language is not important. It may not be important to you but it could be important to whoever knows it, it is also a means of communication, both openly and discreetly as well as developing lingo or inside jokes that only people native to the language could understand. 
Also, if the language does go extinct,it cannot be brought back.
