Vesta erat dea Romanorum quae erat dea domi. Romae (At Rome) fuit templum Vestae, in quo s. e.x Virgines Vestales sacrum ignem semper custodiebant (guarded).

S. e.x annos natae (at 6 years of age) virgines, a Pontifice Maximo delectae (selected), hoc ministerium (ministry) inceperunt. Officia triginta annos (for thirty years) in templo fecerunt. Tum aut templum relinquere aut ibi c. u.m aliis Vestalibus manere deligerunt. Virgines Vestales maximo in honore a populo Romano habebantur.

Vestales sacerrimum ignem custodiebant (guarded), et ubi erat periculum, eum ad locum tutum portabant.

Romani putaverunt Vestam ab Aenea in Italiam portatam esse, et eum primum Virgines Vestales delegisse (deligo = choose).
