No yelling or interrupting.

-It's improper and rude, and we should respect and support our peers.

No standing up in the middle of someone's speech

-Unless it is an emergency you should not be standing in the middle of another's pitch.

No talking / whispering to teammates

-The only conversation you should be having is about how much you support the speaker, no matter what team.

Curse words are not prohibited

-That's kind of obvious

If you have a question, raise your hand, but there is no need for the action to draw attention away from the speaker.

(Honestly, I know nothing about debate, but these are just the basics of classroom expectations, they go for almost anything, like business meetings. I'm pretty sure they can do well for a school debate team.)
