What do the dances that are masked in oaxaca represent?

We have organized the second Coastal Dance Festival with the aim of making some of the coasts dances known. We wouldn't have been able to do this without the joint efforts of the participating villages and their dance groups, civil associations, those in Puerto Escondido's tourist trade, municipal and federal authorities as well as the state governments of Oaxaca and Guerrero.

It refers to the making and use of masks for various traditional dances and ceremony in Mexico.
