Ashoe box in the shape of a rectangular prism measures 12 inches by 7 inches by 4 inches. what is the surface area of the shoe box?

The surface area of any object can be found by adding together the area of all of it's sides. 
This box is a rectangular prism, so it has 6 sides- one on top and bottom that are identical, 2 on the sides that are identical, and 2 on the ends that are identical. \
So, this box has two 12*4 sides, two 12*7 sides, and two 7*4 sides. The solution would be:
2(12*4)+2(12*7)+2(7*4)
2(48)+2(84)+2(28)
96+168+56
=320

So are you supposed to find out what it means in english?
