When someone has been sexually abused as a child, this may lead to shame or guilt, that the victim may always be thinking of that why he or she was not able to stop the perpetrator. Secondly, being sexually abused as a child may affect one's relationship with others especially with love ones, wherein flashbacks may occur at times that may cause misunderstandings or episodes. Lastly, being sexually abused as a child may cause a person to lose his or her self-esteem.

the shelter must be removed before it impedes the growth of the new stand or threatens its survival.
