The recency effect states that you best remember the information you heard  last.

The recency effect refers to a feature of memory, whereby, individuals are more likely to remember information they heard last the best.The reason for this is that information learnt or heard last is still in the short-term memory or "fresh" in the memory. An example of this is memorizing a list of random words. You are more likely to remember the last few words on the list since they are the most recent things you learnt and they are still in your short-term memory.
