How did the relative location of the plymouth colony affect trade with england

It affected it a lot. The Plymouth colony was located very close to the shore of the Atlantic Ocean, since the settlers arrived by boat and they needed easy access to the boats. 
Since the colony was in the "new world", the supplies they had were mainly from England. Because it was a trip across the ocean, England was heavily relied on for goods. Also, new settlers arriving often either settled in, or passed through, Plymouth. This meant the constant arrival of goods from England. 
In short: The location of Plymouth on the shores of Massachusetts was not only planned based on the need for easy access to ships for goods, but the location led the settlement to be dependent on England for certain goods for a good period of time.
