PLEASE HELP!! ARGUMENT RECONSTRUCTION INTO STANDARD FORM (I THINK THERES MULTIPLE CONCLUSIONS) COP26 has come and gone, and now the time for definitive action is upon us: the UK should stop all use of fossil fuels immediately.

For an avaricious country like ours, the choice is simple: either we keep dirtying our hands with black gold until it runs out (by which time the Earth will look more like Venus), or we act now by cleaning our hands of it entirely. It truly would be a deadly sin to let this once paradisiacal planet deteriorate into a ruinous hellscape, unsuitable for life.

In fact, there is another reason in favour of immediate renunciation of fossil fuels. Most people agree that the impact of climate change is predominantly felt in the developing world, where the environmental devastation is impossible even for the docile to ignore. Yet the industrial revolutions that led to climate change took place primarily in filthy rich countries like the UK. In other words, we have polluted the Earth’s atmosphere with carbon dioxide, and now it is the world’s poorest who are paying for it. Where is the justice in that?

Nothing short of total and immediate change will get the job done. Let that be the legacy of COP26.
