see its like making a essay and the 1st sentence is the "the dog ran" see its nothing special the reader would just put the book down ... but if i were  to say "On A rainy Monday Afternoon Kens Dog Ran down  a downwards slope chasing a cat and got injured"  as u can see its way better then "the dog ran" i gave explicit information on how the day was and how the dog got hurt also introduced a character ... it will grab the readers attention they will start askin questions like "who is ken?" "Is the dog okay" "does it rain often where ken lives" and so on ... hope this helped im not the best writer lol as u can tell but i hope you got the idea
