How do the three major sociological perspectives view society?

Sociologists today employ three primary theoretical perspectives: the symbolic interactionist perspective, the functionalist perspective, and the conflict perspective. These three perspectives offer sociologists theoretical paradigms for explaining how society influences people, and vice versa. 

1. Structural- Functional Approach: Views society as a system whose parts work together to ensure stability. This approach focuses on the uses of structures, both positives and negatives.

2. Social-Conflict Approach: Sees society as an arena of inequality that creates conflict and change. This approach seeks to identify the ways in which social structures benefit some members of a society, while harming others... This approach also points out issues of racism and sexism in everyday practices.

3. Symbolic Interaction Approach: Instead of focusing on the ways that social structures affect society as a whole, this approach draws attention to specific individuals and how the interact with one another, It views society as the reality that people create in their everyday interactions with others.

The First Two Focuses on the Big Picture while the Last one focuses on the individual.
