The American Revolution was the main cause of the revolutions in Latin America. Like the American colonists, people in Latin American countries were tired of being treated poorly by the European countries. When the American colonists revolted and won their independence from Britain, it showed citizens of other countries that they didn’t have to live under European rule. People throughout Latin America organized revolts and fought for their independence, just as the Americans did.
