How do you think Indigenous and European interactions from hundreds of years ago are relevant to Canadians today?

Indigenous Folks were forcibly transferred from ancestral territories into reservations or into colonies as a result of the federal government's integration and separation programmes. Their bond with the ancestral lands was the bedrock of who they were as a society, as well as the ground was where they kept their past.

It is believed that 150,000 Indigenous students were incarcerated in domestic schools between the late 1800s and 1996, when the final one closed. Students were educated or made to agree that they, their parents, and local civilizations were substandard to European lifestyle and culture while being in school.
