One of the guiding principles of the Nation of Islam is gaining economic power for African Americans. Freedom of religion is the first amendment to the constitution; therefore, African Americans, after the abolition of slavery, had no need to gain religious freedom. The Nation of Islam has said that African Americans are the superior race, there is clearly not a notion of equality about white people. Finally, they have used violence to demonstrate superiority and fight for their rights.

Gaining economic power for African Americans was one of the guiding principles of the Nation of Islam. Moreover, the foremost belief of the Nation of Islam and its adherents is that there is no other God but Allah.

They taught that their initiator, Master Fard Muhammad was Mahdi. The nation of Islam’s official beliefs have been described in books, documents, and some articles issued by the organization, and in speeches by Elijah Muhammad, Farrakhan, Malcolm X, and other ministers. Written teachings from 1930 to 1934 were given from W. Fard Muhammad to his disciple, Elijah Muhammad. These were gathered and entitled The Supreme Wisdom. The nation of Islam pertains to teach its adherents that the world community is currently segmented into three different categories. They teach that from a general point of view, 85% of the population is deaf, mute, and blind masses of people who are easily controlled in the wrong direction and difficult to lead in the right direction.  

That 85 % of the masses are believed to be manipulated by 10% of people. 10% of the wealthy slave-makers are believed to manipulate 85% of the masses by ignorance, skills in using religious doctrine, and mass media. The third group is raised to like 5% of poor righteous teachers of people in the world, who acknowledge the truth of the manipulation of 85% of the masses of the people with 10%. 5% righteous teachers pertain to fight and war with 10% to grasp and free the minds of the masses.
