Define sexual inequality in various societies

Sexual inequality refers to the unequal position of individuals based on their gender. Thus, this concept refers to the different possibilities, rights and prerogatives that men and women have in their daily lives, according to their gender condition, where generally men are in a better position than women in this regard.

In recent decades, gender equality between men and women in relationships has grown. But still most of the power in a relationship lies with the man.  In addition, although more and more women have entered paid work from the second half of the twentieth century onwards, traditional gender roles are still present. Women choose (or are forced to choose) to play a greater role in the household and in the education of the children.

As a result, women who also have a paid job work approximately 18 hours a week more in the household than men. It turns out that modern couples are trying to justify this. Arguments are that women would be better at housework than men, or that the man has a tougher job that makes great demands on him.
