Civil Rights Movement took place in the United States. It was a campaign which lasted for a decade starting from the year 1954 to the year 1968. It was a movement made by the African Americans and their allies in order to put an end to the disenfranchisement, racial discrimination and the racial segregation that was made to them in the United States.

The affirmative actions taken by the African American was the social movement with the goal to put an end to the racial discrimination and the racial segregation against them. It was characterized by the non violent protest carried out and the civil disobedience movement by them.
