How Europeans interacted with the lands they colonized in the Americans?

European explorations eventually led to the European colonization of North America. European countries began to claim territories in North America to expand their influence in the new lands. Slowly, the countries began to settle these areas to protect their newly claimed territories.If Europeans never colonized and invaded America, the native nations and tribes would continue to interact in trade. What we see as the new world would be extremely diverse and the groups which live on the continent would become well-known peoples in the old world. Thus the continent would look a lot like this.
