1. Choose the civilization that you want to research. Next, look for resources to use in your paper. You can use the lessons from this unit as well as resources you find on the Internet. Find three relevant resources. Read about how to evaluate websites to find reliable information. In the space provided, note the civilization that you chose and the resources that you will use.

2. Write the introduction paragraph of your research paper. The introduction should include brief background information about your topic. It should also include a clear thesis statement. Because this will be an explanatory paper, the thesis should explain your topic clearly to your audience. Read about how to write a good thesis statement.

3.

Write three short body paragraphs on your chosen topic. Make sure all of your body paragraphs support the thesis statement. Your body paragraphs should also contain evidence that supports the claims that you are making. Use transitional words and phrases between the paragraphs to maintain the flow of ideas in your essay.

4. Now write a conclusion for your research paper. The conclusion should restate the main idea of the paper. It should also bring your explanation to a close in a meaningful way.
