First Crusade (1096-1099)
Many in Europe answered the call to free the Holy Land from Muslim rule. The Christian Crusaders
conquered several Muslim cities, including Jerusalem.
This crusade was called to recapture land that had been lost to the Muslims after the First Crusade. Many
people were killed, but the Crusaders were unable to recapture much territory.
Second Crusade
(1147–1148)
Third Crusade
(1189-1192)
After Jerusalem was retaken by the Muslims, a new crusade began. Famous figures fought on both sides,
including Sultan Saladin of Egypt and King Richard of England. The Crusaders recaptured some cities, but
they could not take Jerusalem
Fourth Crusade
(1200-1204)
This crusade was called to attack Egypt and the Holy Land, but the Crusaders ran out of money and never
made it there. They instead attacked Constantinople, which was a rival Christian city.
From the viewpoint of the Christians, which of the above was the most successful crusade?

In 1914, alabama produced 1.7 million bales of cotton, but three years later produced only 515,000, bales. meanwhile, in georgia, 5.2 million acres of land was dedicated for cotton production in 1914, but by 1923 there were just 2.6 million acres used for growing cotton. all of this was the result of the work of a tiny insect: the boll weevil. alabama and georgia first felt the effects of the boll weevil at different times. what would account for this difference in timing? a) the infestation moved from west to east. b) the infestation moved from east to west. c) georgia had better ways to deal with the problem. d) alabama was further from the insect's point of origin.
