Describe a time when you struggled to build a relationship with someone important. How did you eventually overcome that

I remember when I had a strained relationship with my girlfriend because I did not trust her. I knew that she was a flirt and absolutely loved male attention and would keep a lot of admirers against my wish.

Our relationship was strained because I did not trust her and we constantly got into fights and she would insist that she was not cheating and she was allowed to have as many friends as she wanted, regardless of gender.

Eventually, we went to see a counselor who counseled both of us and my girlfriend finally understood how her behavior was affecting me and making me not to trust her, and always suspect her. I also realized that I needed to trust her, as a benefit of the doubt and see how our relationship would change.

We tried it, and it worked! She cut down on her male admirers and stopped being an attention-glut, we have been together for two years.
