Anthony is a perfectionist. He is having a hard time adjusting to college life due to his fear of failure. In his mind, it is safer to do nothing than to take a risk and fail. Anthony has decided to not confront his college workload; he feels he has too much to do and not enough time to do it perfectly. Anthony should take a bold step and remove fear of failure from himself. Anthony should first practice self acceptance to combat fear of failure. Anthony should first see himself as hitting the difficulty, he should feel the fear and see himself overcoming it. Anthony should use little time to plan how to face and overcome the obstacles on his way. Then he should take the bold steps and get into action, then he should give himself deadline to complete the task. It will help him alot.

The major underlying cause of fear of failure is the fear of shame and embarrassment I that may be attach to it.
