A patient was referred to the psychiatrist's office to find out what's wrong with him so he can live a normal life. This is what he told the psychiatrist:
He realizes that he cannot focus on finishing any tasks that he was expected to complete at work. He almost got fired because he was not paying attention to what he was doing or listening to others. He always interrupts everyone while talking without taking turns in the conversations. He is impatient with others and often reacts emotionally without holding back. When he gets angry, he often uses foul language without hesitating. He acts out his anger by punching others in the face even though he knows he is not supposed to hit others so impulsively.
His life is so chaotic that he can't seem to get his priority straight. He lost his relationship when he demanded so much attention from the relationship that is exhausting to anyone. He is always distracted by anything that is new and forgets that he needs to finish the old projects before he starts new ones.
He gets so frustrated that almost gives up the hope that he can accomplish something if he does not create dramas every day. He is hypersentive to any criticism and reacts badly fearing that everyone is out to get him. He is almost giving up hope in life when he feels like a failure. He has lost weight and losing sleep because he is worried about losing his job and no one seems to like him even though he constantly seeks attention from others.
He is always on the go, climbing things when he was a kid. He never sits still on the chair and often irritates others when he is so hyperactive. He was diagnosed with a disorder when he was a little kid but he refused to take the medication and threw them out when his parents were not looking. Now, his life is in such a mess that he is willing to give it another try to seek help from a psychiatrist to find out how he can fix his life back to normal.

“dear sir: it is with great reluctance, i trouble you on a subject, which does not fall within your province; but it is a subject that occasions me more distress, than i have felt, since the commencement of the war; and which loudly demands the most zealous exertions of every person of weight and authority, who is interested in the success of our affairs. i mean the present dreadful situation of the army for want of provisions, and the miserable prospects before us, with respect to futurity. it is more alarming than you will probably conceive, for, to form a just idea, it were necessary to be on the spot. for some days past, there has been little less, than a famine in camp. a part of the army has been a week, without any kind of flesh, and the rest for three or four days. naked and starving as they are, we cannot enough admire the incomparable patience and fidelity of the soldiery, that they have not been ere this excited by their sufferings, to a general mutiny or dispersion. strong symptoms, however, discontent have appeared in particular instances; and nothing but the most acitive efforts every where can long avert so shocking a catastrophe.” what’s the central idea?

Einar sees alexandra every day across the room in his history class but has never talked with her. einar likes the way alexandra looks, including the way she dresses and how she wears her hair. he's even more attracted to her apparent intelligence and the way she handles herself in class discussions and during interactions with the instructor. he'd like to know more about her, so he asks one of his friends about her. einar, using a passive strategy to gain information about her, is probably in the preinteraction awareness stage of any relationship that might develop between them. t/f
