They faced an extreme economic deficit beacuse they couldnt rely on the resorses of the Soviet Union and were isolated to their own econmic machine (which wasnt working well beacuse of its dependace on the other countrys to keep it going)

this kind of commercial war between the usa and china is slowing down the growth of the whole world so we can say that it is a draw back of trade regulations. and the free trade agreements are benefits of trade regulations.
