An airline’s pilots are not represented by a union. The company has previously scheduled pilots to fly 10 fewer hours per month than the maximum permitted by the FARs. In an effort to improve employee productivity, the company wishes to increase each pilots required monthly flight time to the maximum permitted by the FARs. Can the company immediately and uni-laterally impose the requirement for additional flight time or must it follow some procedure before implementing this change?
