R. P. is a 61 year old man who is slightly overweight. He is involved in finance, had a quadruple bypass at age 48. He works long hours, does not take vacations, and often will lock himself in his room for 48 hours at a time, exiting only to get food and use the bathroom. While visiting his daughter in another city, he went to the grocery store that was 5 minutes away to pick up a few items. He was gone for hours, not answering his cell phone. Three hours passed before his daughter received a phone call from a bartender in the next state over. The bartender said R. P. appeared drunk, although he didn't drink anything at the bar. It is noteworthy that R. P. never drank alcohol, and haven't had a drink since his wedding 30 years prior. Evaluate the information and discuss what you believe is wrong with R. P. and why. Include discussion of the direction his family should take once he returns home and why.
