Do you think that American Navy Commander John Poyer, the governor of American Eastern Samoa during WWI and the Spanish flu pandemic, was overly harsh in the way he ordered the quarantine of American Samoa to be carried out, or do you think that the end results justified the strictness of his orders?

Inmy opinion, the quarantine of the American suspected to have the flu on the ship was never a harsh decision but rather a quick decision that needs to be acknowledged.

This is because, it is better to sacrifice a few and save millions  of people than in trying to save few people, you ended up sacrificing the other millions of people.

The end result justified the means as a result of no single person dying from the flu in Samoa when compared to other countries and continent where thousands of death where recorded.
