According to Milgram, the most fundamental lesson to be learned from his study of obedience is that people value their freedom and uniqueness and react negatively when it is taken from them. the desire to be right is one of the strongest human motives. even ordinary people, who are not particularly hostile, can become agents of destruction. people are naturally inclined to be hostile and aggressive.
