This is true. The King and his people took Jonah's warning or destruction seriously and they repented accordingly.

In the holy Bible, Jonah was asked by God to go to Nineveh to warn the people against the bad things that they have being doing.

Jonah initially tried to run away from this assignment. After suffering a grave consequence for his refusal, he went to Nineveh and he did as he was told.

After telling the King his message, they believed him and decided to turn away from their evil ways. There was a call for a fast and sackcloth was worn to show that they were sorry.

In this case, Nineveh's king took the warning seriously.
