Conformity can be referred to as shaping one's idea, behavior, attitude or preference in other to align with a set standard or cultural rules or guidelines about a specific aspect of one's group, organization or environment.

The fact that being fashionable is about conformity than individuality can be argued based on the following ;

Not everyone or every member of a group is fashionable. However, in an individual's bid or quest to conform to the general norm of the group, such individual start to mimick the established fashion guidelines which could later become an integral part of his or her life after being accustomed to such trend.

Also, some individuals aren't naturally fashionable even though they'll have loved to be. If such individual's aligns or adjust to a certain fashion culture, he or she can learn good and sensible fashion trends. Thanks to such individual's ability to conform to a set of guided principles.
