Concordance means to agree and the concordance rate is the rate of agreement. The concordance rate is largely used in statistics and the geneticists use this methods to know the probability of two individuals, such as twins, developing the same type of disease such as cancer and schizophrenia.

To make the calculation, one looks at the number of subjects that are concordant in a research study over the total number of the entire subjects that were accesses.
