Impression management is the management of the impression of others' perceptions. This is related to their perception. This is material possession or it can be an event. This theory explains that people make a perception that a person is consistent with their goals. For instance, when a girl introducing her boyfriend to her parents, she will present good quality of him. She did it because of it she can stay with her boyfriend. The most effective impression management is self-presentation.  

Thus here Sociologist Irving Goff man describes the impression management that provides the information about others that present themselves in a favorable light.
