The Nativity story has been explained below in bullet points: An angel named Gabriel appeared in front of Mary who was engaged to Joseph. The angel told her that she was chosen by God to be the mother of his son named Jesus who would grow up to become the savior of all. The angel also told her that her cousin Elizabeth was going to give birth to a child who would be making way for Jesus in the future and his name would be John. Mary went to live with Elizabeth and Zechariah (Elizabeth's husband) so that she could take care of her. When she returned to Nazareth, Joseph found out that Mary was pregnant before getting married to him. An angel appeared in Joseph's dream and told him that he should marry Mary as the child that she is carrying in her womb is the child of God himself. The then Roman Emperor, Augustus, called everyone to Jedua in order to perform a census and get everyone registered. There Mary gave birth to Jesus in a small hut that had animals laying around. An angel appeared in front of the shepherds rearing their sheep in the nearby fields and told them that a child has taken birth in a stable nearby and the child is no one else but their savior himself. The shepherds ran to the place where Jesus was born and narrated the incident to the people. People believed that Jesus was God's son and celebrated his birth.
