Many, if not all, of the diagnoses included in dsm-5 can be thought of as a matter of degrees rather than being looked at as "all or nothing" situations. this point supports the argument that the dsm should employ a approach to diagnosis.

Explanation: DSM IV was criticized for having a limited vision of psychopathology in terms of dimensions (educational, interpersonal, etc). DSM V took this critic and change its vision of diagnosis from cathegorial to dimensional where it includes different levels of "degrees" from mild to severe and also taking into consideration different dimensions such as educational, work environment, interpersonal relationships, etc.
