A) As you may know, social sciences are not exact sciences such as physics or chemistry: in social sciences there are not some few rules that let you, as an investigator, understand all the phenomena in question. Solitary study and reflection may work for philosophers or physicists, but not for social investigators.

C) Well, this may be true in some people but is not very common, let´s face it: not everybody is concerned in "acting for the common good"... if we all were, we would live in a much better world.

D) Same as C, it may happen, but not every social investigator cares about that... or in other words: to be a social investigator is not necessary that tou concern about better alternative realities.
