Why would the location of islamic lands make cultural diffusion possible?

The location of Islam made possible the cultural diffusion because at the time the trading routes were really important. Trading was the base of the economy, and since it was located between the main trading routes from Europe, North Africa and Asia, the cultural exchange was mandatory.
