Causal Attribution is an approach that suggests that people will believe if the actions of others are caused by internal and external factors that are influenced by three types of information, namely:

Consensus, events where other people behave the same as the person being assessed. Consistency, an event where the person we are evaluating behaves the same at another time. Distinctiveness, the event where people behave in the same manner in another context.

Fritz Heider was the first person to say that "basically people are always motivated to understand the behavior of others in social interactions from day to day".

Causal Attribution Theory aims to understand the behavior of others using the principle of causality that is intuitive & common sense.

To determine this causal attribution based on internal factors (ability & effort) & external factors (situation factors).

Internal factors or dispositional attributions, i.e. the behavior of a person originating from the person concerned caused by traits or dispositions (psychological elements that precede behavior). External factors or environmental attributions, i.e. the behavior of a person who comes from the situation of the place / environment or outside of the person concerned.
