In reality, they actually just thinking about increasing the profit of their plantation

Southerners believed and felt to own enslaved workers to make a living. They strongly believe that such practice is necessary and whenever they would free the slaves it will only cause chaos in the entire country. They justified owning slaves by arguing that freeing the slaves will only increase the unemployment rate of the country.
